About the Artist
A true nature lover, Kairen enjoys living on her 275 acre working cash crop farm where she often finds her materials for her pieces; like the deer antlers left in the field after falling off in the fall. Combine farming with her love of horse training & competing, rock climbing, animal & nature photography, Kairen finds a wealth of material to work with provided by Mother Nature.
Kairens' art has won many awards in local & regional contests including multiple wins for recycled arts.
Horse Hoof Clippings & cattle horns for the jewellery come from Kairens' animals. No animals were harmed in the process. Clippings & horns come from the natural care of "trimming" maintenance of the animal to ensure a healthy life. Kairen takes these products and treats them without harmful chemicals to the environment or human.
Kairens' love of horses has each horse shoe art piece sold with a story and face behind the shoe including her CHSA stallion F E Copper Top (pictured here with artist) who is ridden by Ian Roberts one of Canadas' premiere multi Olympic representatives.
Kairen has worked with rescuing cats for over 30 years and often has them as subject of her photography. This year Kairen is offering prints of these loveable characters who have come into her life with their comedic antics.
All photographs are from Kairens' own animals.
